This is a fascinating view of the town of Plon (Plona) in northen Germany, near Lubeck. Plon traces its history to the 10th century.   The view shows Plon, its large large church and the castle above, on an island on the Ploner See.  Small boats and fishermen are shown on the lake which is surrounded by several smaller lakes and green fields.  In the upper left corner is the palace of Heinrich Rantzau, who requested and funded this view in 1593.  In the foreground a nobleman on horse, a nun, a noblewoman and a hunter are shown.   Latin text on verso.
