A very interesting world map from the early 19th century showing statistical details of the counties as to size, population, type of society and religion.  The terminology used for classifying societies are: Enlightened (mostly Europe, Eastern US/Canada), Civilized, Half Civilized and Barbarous (including Western US).  Also shown are: adistance table between major US cities and an explonation of symbols and color coding of the major religions.  Insets are Australia and major islands of the world.
