A handsome Ptolemaic map of Greece including the Aegean islands and Crete. The map details settlements and topography. This edition was believed to be edited by Michael Villanovus, also known as Servetus. He was charged with heresy by John Calvin in 1553, in part due to the text in the atlas that contained this map. He was sentenced to burning at the stake, atop a pyre of his own books, including this atlas map. Latin text on verso.
