This is an ornate and highly decorative map of Africa featuring five vignettes and fancy borders of the Tallis style. The map is steel engraved and depicts the limited knowledge of the African continent beyond North Africa and the shores.  No recognition is given to the great lakes of Africa.  The well rendered vignettes include a North Africa Arab Family, Bedouin camp site, East and South Africa natives and St. Helena.   Color outline.
