This is an ornate and highly decorative map of the Pacific Ocean and Polynesia with a great deal of detail.  The map extends from California to Japan and features the Society, Friendly, New Hebrides, Caroline, and Sandwich Islands among others.  The steel engraved map features four vignettes and fancy borders of the Tallis style: Kalakakooa - Sandwich Islands; Otaheite; Harbour of Dory - New Guinea; and Resolution Bay - Marguesas.
