This is an ornate and highly decorative map of Australia’s New South Wales with a great deal of detail along the extended coastline. While the map is from the gold rush era, it doesn’t reference it in this region. The steel engraved map features multiple vignettes and fancy borders of the Tallis style: Sydney Cove, and two nature scenes of a cove and Xanthorrhaea plant together with the Seal of New South Wales. Engraved by J. Rapkin. Color outline and colored vignettes.
