This a very attractive double page engraving of the two Hemispheres, plus various projections.  This hand colored map is one of the most visually striking amongst 18th century world maps. The bold engraving with the central twin hemisphere map surrounded by several smaller maps on various projections including polar.  California is an island and is shown five times on the sheet. Japan is depicted in a bizarre shape that incorporates Terra Yedso (Hokkaido).  Australia and New Zealand are beginning to take shape, and New Guinea is shown twice, once in each hemisphere. Tracks of several explorers are shown.  Clouds with numerous wind heads, lesser spheres and 2 cartouches round out the map.
