An excellent map of North American continent, with a great deal of of settlement and topographical detail. The States are still in the formative period -- both Nebraska Territory and Minnesota are well oversized; Kansas extends to the Rocky Mountains; New Mexico and Utah are at their largest extent; Alaska is still part of Russia (Russian America). Northern Greenland is still shown as unexplored. This rare example by John Tallis and engraver John Rapkin doesn't have the commonly seen vignettes on the margins.
