This is a relatively rare and important map, it being the first of Edinburgh and the Lothians showing the southern shore of the Firth of Forth including Edinburgh. While credited to the Hondius family, this is believed to be the first printed version of any map by the important minister and mapmaker, Timothy Pont. Great deal of detail as to settlements, forrests, and topographical features are shown. French text on verso. This is a second state, with imprint of H Hondius.
